Really Old News!!
Starting in May 2011, the Avonlea Heritage Museum will be featuring “Scotty the Tyrannosaurus rex”. This temporary exhibit is on loan from the Royal Saskatchewan Museum and is sure to please dinosaur lovers of all ages. Robert Gebhardt, a schoolteacher, originally discovered Scotty in the Eastend area in 1991. The RSM excavated the sight over the next few years and the skull was eventually reconstructed and put into a travelling exhibit for the entire province to enjoy. The T. rex is probably the most recognizable dinosaur in the world with its huge serrated teeth and ferocious stance. The exhibit will be at the museum from May through August.
